Alex Hibberts is a PhD student, at Durham University, specialising in late medieval and early modern environmental history. He is particularly interested in the relationship between monastic institutions, liminal landscapes, and how monasteries have utilised and shaped their surrounding environments. Written in his spare time, this blog explores Britain’s historic landscapes and buildings, with an especial focus on medieval church architecture.
